Investigative Committee Ends Criminal Cases Against Manukyan, Vanetsyan, Sharmazanov and Others

The Investigative Committee has closed the criminal cases against Gagik Tsarukyan, President of the Prosperous Armenia Party, Garnik Isagulyan, President of the National Security Party, Suren Surenyants, Chairman of the Political Council of the Democratic Alternative Party, Gegham Manukyan, a member of the Supreme Body of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, former Masis Mayor Davit Hambardzumyan, former Vice President Ara Sahakyan, former Head of the National Security Service Arthur Vanetsyan, member of the Republican Party of Armenia Eduard Sharmazanov, chairman of the One Armenia party Arthur Ghazinyan, and representative of the ARF Supreme Body Ishkhan Saghatelyan. This was reported by NEWS.am, confirming the information provided by MP Gegham Manukyan.

It is noted that the Investigative Committee had initiated the criminal case under the first part of Article 225.1 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (organizing and conducting a gathering with a violation of the procedure established by law) and the first part of Article 307.1 (violating actions and temporary restrictions during a legal regime of martial law).

Recall that following the rally on November 11, 2020, which the opposition organized demanding the resignation of the authorities after their defeat in the war, a group of political figures were arrested and a criminal case was initiated.
