Return of Armenian POWs Faces Tension During Interrogation: New Details

The newspaper "Zhoghovourd" reports that the interrogation of 8 Armenian prisoners of war who returned to Armenia was quite tense and complex. According to previous reports by Armlur.am, while investigators were questioning them due to the needs of the criminal case, the relatives of the prisoners raised an angry uproar and attempted to break the windows of the Military Investigation Department. The situation was calmed down by police officers. The parents' demand was simple: for the law enforcement authorities to release their children soon.

According to information received by "Zhoghovourd," the interrogation began around 3 PM and lasted approximately 7-8 hours. Now a crucial question remains: will the repatriated prisoners be detained or not? According to our sources in the law enforcement system, the pre-trial body has not yet brought any charges against any of the boys who returned to Armenia and has not arrested them. It is difficult to predict what new circumstances may arise in the criminal case later on.

It is good news that the POWs have returned home.

Note: Late in the evening, the interrogation of the 8 prisoners of war came to an end at the Military Investigation Division. We learned that 6 out of the 8 POWs were released by the investigative body and have returned home. However, 2 of them, who are conscripted soldiers, were transferred to the military police for further handling of their service issues.
