Response Time is Coming Soon: Kocharian

Former President of Armenia and leader of the "Armenia" alliance Robert Kocharian has made a statement. "In the face of extremely complicated challenges facing Armenia and Artsakh, this government has concentrated all its resources on persecuting the opposition, torturing, imprisoning at all costs, and keeping them in custody with the utmost effort. The likes of Arush Arushanyan, Manvel Paramazyan, Narek Mantashyan, and Garnik Isagulian have been arrested solely for their political views.

Today, we are no longer surprised even by the arrest of a judge for the implementation of justice. This sets a new benchmark for legal disgrace. This is a deliberate act aimed at eliminating the independence of the judicial system and a new wave of intimidation through detention. What is happening is the degradation of the rule of law, with the silent support of international bodies. All of this demonstrates that the government is weak and incapable of facing complicated challenges. Instead, it is doing everything possible to crush internal resistance. It is obvious that today the government is among the number one headaches.

These processes cannot last long; they will eventually come to an end, as no authority can endure the scale of such illegality. Response time is coming soon."
