Turkish Drones to Be Produced in Azerbaijan

Selçuk Bayraktar, son-in-law of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the chief technology officer of the drone-producing company Baykar, has announced plans to establish a drone production facility in Azerbaijan.

According to РИА Новости, the Azerbaijani drones will be released under the name “Akinci,” not “Bayraktar.” “The relevant Azerbaijani authorities are interested in the Akinci drone. We will initiate both its development and production in Azerbaijan,” he stated in an interview with the Azerbaijani state television channel AzTV.

Bayraktar noted that Azerbaijani specialists related to the sector will be involved in this work.
