Russia and Canada Take the Ice Wearing Medical Masks
During the Olympic Games in Beijing, the women's hockey teams of Russia and Canada took to the ice wearing masks. The reason was that the coronavirus test results for the Russian athletes were still not ready.
Initially, the Canadian team refused to play, but after discussions, it was decided to start the game on the condition that everyone would wear masks without exception. Later, the Russian Olympic Committee announced that the test results for Russian hockey players had been received in the third round, allowing them to remove their masks. However, the Canadians remained in medical masks until the end of the game.
