Real Chaos in Vanadzor: People Facing Issues Including Possible Loss of Homes
The situation in Vanadzor remains tense. Since the local elections on December 5, 2021, the city has effectively been without a leader, and the work of the council is paralyzed.
In an interview with "Factinfo," Vahe Doxoyan, head of the Vanadzor branch of the Homeland Party, stated that currently, Vanadzor has no mayor or any substitute. There is not even an authorized person who can stamp documents or give a signature.
Due to the chaotic situation, residents of Vanadzor are facing numerous problems, including the risk of losing their homes. “One resident had his house under mortgage; he couldn’t pay the loan and decided to sell the apartment to pay off the loan, keeping the remaining amount. However, there was an issue with address identification, as the municipality needed to provide a confirmation document regarding the apartment's address for the notary to execute the transaction. But there was no authorized person who could stamp the document, and this person lost his home. There are many such cases,” Doxoyan explained, emphasizing that it will be very challenging to resolve the issues that have arisen during this period.
