Armed and Masked Robbery in Gyumri: Shots Fired
On February 5, an armed and masked robbery occurred in the Shirak region. At approximately 3:35 AM, a call was received by the Kumayri police station reporting that an attack had taken place at a gas station located at 9 Khanchyan Street in Gyumri.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the head of the Shirak regional police Aram Ghazaryan and the head of the Kumayri police station Aram Gharibyan arrived at the scene. The shift supervisor of the gas station informed the police, as well as investigators from the Shirak regional investigative department, that around 3:00 AM, he had noticed two masked individuals in the vicinity of the gas station. He then went to the break room, and shortly after, one of the masked individuals entered the room, fired a gun at the floor, and demanded money from him.
The supervisor informed the armed intruder that the money was in the cash register and a few minutes later stepped out to find that the masked individuals had fled the scene. He later discovered that approximately 150,000 AMD had been stolen from the cash register. An investigation is underway, led by senior investigator Khachatryan from the Shirak regional investigative department.
