Video: 'These are fascists' - Protest Against Deforestation for School Construction in Russia

This morning, an active rally by activists is taking place in the Troitsk Forest Park in Russia, protesting against the deforestation for the construction of a school intended for two thousand students.

The BBC Russian Service correspondent reports that several dozen activists have gathered in the forest park.

Around 9 a.m., groups of workers and construction equipment arrived at the scene and began to cut down trees.

Wearing helmets and vests, individuals have fenced off the area and are trying to remove the protesters from the cutting site. One of them told the BBC correspondent that they are employees of the local construction department. The helmeted individuals are behaving violently, pushing the protesters and knocking them to the ground.

There are still no police present at the rally.
