Video: "There has been a negative response from Baku regarding those proposals" - Foreign Minister
“We have repeatedly stated that we are interested in the delimitation and demarcation process,” said Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan during a press briefing today.
“The Prime Minister of Armenia, the President of Russia, and the President of Azerbaijan agreed in Sochi to take steps towards enhancing the level of security stability in the region and to proceed with the establishment of a delimitation commission,” the minister noted.
“We are one hundred percent committed to this statement and the obligations we have undertaken. We are currently discussing with the Azerbaijani and Russian sides the measures that we believe will create mechanisms of security and stability at the border,” said Mirzoyan.
The minister indicated that several proposals have been made. “This is a negotiation process. In particular, there has been a negative response from Baku regarding those specific proposals, but it is a continuing process; it is not the case that we made a proposal once and they rejected it... there have also been proposals that have been unacceptable to us,” Mirzoyan added.
