Turks Acquire Capital in Armenia, Economy Minister Kerobyan Says Country Always Open to Turkey Until 2021

Turks have acquired real estate in Armenia. This was announced today by the Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan after a meeting of the Armenian government, responding to reports that Turks have been acquiring capital in Armenia recently.

"There has always been, for example, real estate, companies," said Kerobyan. For more specific information regarding what properties Turkish citizens own in Armenia, the minister suggested journalists refer to the Cadastre Committee, State Registry, and Central Depository.

Nevertheless, the economy minister assured that there are no strategic important objects among those properties. Vahan Kerobyan stated that Armenia's economy has always been open to Turkey in this regard, except for 2021, when the government imposed an embargo on the import of Turkish goods.

"If you go to 'Paitak,' people have had quite practical relations with their Turkish partners even 10 years ago," said Kerobyan.
