D&G Refuses Natural Fur

The Italian luxury brand Dolce & Gabbana has announced that starting from 2022, it will not use natural fur in any of its collections. According to Sputnik Armenia, this was reported by furfreealliance.com, with the company transitioning to the use of eco-friendly artificial furs in response to the changing tastes of consumers.

“Dolce & Gabbana is working towards creating a more sustainable future, which cannot involve the use of animal fur. The entire system of innovation plays an important role in social responsibility, and it must be encouraged,” stated Fedele Usai, the Director of Communications and Marketing at Dolce & Gabbana.

The statement also noted that in order to maintain the highly valuable professional skills and work of fur artisans, Dolce & Gabbana will continue to work with them on creating clothing and accessories from recycled and recyclable materials, eco-furs, which will be a sustainable alternative to natural fur.

The new policy of the fashion house, in line with the principles of the Fur Free Alliance, has the support of the Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society International. Notably, Dolce & Gabbana announced its decision just one week after Moncler announced its own decision to abandon fur.

Earlier, the French group Kering, which encompasses brands such as Gucci, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Alexander McQueen, Brioni, and Yves Saint Laurent, announced that all its fashion houses would completely abandon the use of animal fur in their collections starting from autumn 2022.
