Russia Transfers 30,000 Soldiers to Belarus, Jens Stoltenberg

The NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has announced that in recent days, Russia has moved approximately 30,000 troops into Belarus. This includes special operations units, as well as Su-35 fighter jets, Iskander missile systems, and S-400 air defense systems, according to DW.

Stoltenberg stated that this represents the most significant presence of Russian military forces in Belarus since the end of the "Cold War." He added, "And this is occurring alongside Russia’s annual nuclear forces exercises."

Meanwhile, Kyiv does not perceive a threat for Ukraine from the Russian-Belarusian exercises. Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov asserted that their armed forces are prepared for any changes in the situation.

Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu has arrived in Minsk, where he met with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

Russian-Belarusian exercises titled “Union Resolve 2022” are currently underway in Belarus, marking the largest since the creation of the Union State.
