Another 7000 Students to Receive Discounts in Universities: Nikol Pashinyan on the Proposal

Members of the "Civil Contract" faction have introduced a new legislative initiative proposing discounts on tuition fees for up to 20% of students. During the presentation of the project in the government, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vahram Dumanyan stated that the ministry supports the legislative proposal but suggested certain amendments. According to Dumanyan, the changes would be detrimental to the state, as they could result in a reduction of tax revenues by approximately 500 million drams.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan clarified that this initiative would benefit an additional 7000 students. "In other words, as a result of this change, another 7000 students will have the opportunity to benefit from the discount system without imposing additional tax obligations on universities," Pashinyan explained during the discussion of the project.
