VIDEO: The Issue is Under Discussion – Mirzoyan on Participation in the Antalya Conference
Armenia has not yet made a decision regarding its participation in the Antalya Conference. This was announced on February 2 during a joint press conference with Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
The minister informed that he and the special representative for normalizing relations with Turkey, Ruben Rubinyan, have received an invitation from the Turkish side. According to Mirzoyan, the upcoming conference was also discussed during his meeting with the Austrian counterpart.
“There is no decision yet. The issue is under discussion,” Mirzoyan noted, adding that it should be viewed not purely through the lens of bilateral relations, but rather as an important international diplomatic event to which Armenia may decide to participate. The minister emphasized that even if participation is linked to the normalization process, there is nothing negative about it, only positive aspects.
For his part, the Austrian Foreign Minister remarked that the invitation extended to representatives from Armenia was a positive gesture from Ankara.
Speaking about Armenia's relations with Turkey, Mirzoyan stated: More details can be found in the video.
