Azerbaijan Has Not Abandoned Its Sinister Plans: Artsakh's NSS Releases Video

Since November 9, 2020, Azerbaijan's special services have directed all their resources toward organizing and executing cyber attacks and engaging Artsakh residents in various conspiratorial processes on social networks.

This was stated in a report by Artsakh's National Security Service (NSS). "The 44-day war in 2020 was an indescribable catastrophe for the citizens of the Republic of Artsakh, and although active military operations have ceased since the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020, Azerbaijan has not abandoned its sinister plans and continues its steps aimed at terrifying the peaceful residents of the Republic of Artsakh, fostering planned panic among Artsakh residents, and maintaining it.

After November 9, 2020, Azerbaijan's special services directed their resources to utilize internet opportunities for organizing and executing cyber attacks and involving Artsakh residents in various conspiratorial processes on social networks.

Significantly, these methods and tricks are regularly modified and improved. Initially, scenes from Stepanakert and other well-known places in the Republic of Artsakh were copied from the Armenian internet domain and re-posted with Azerbaijani text, attempting to create a sense of vulnerability among Artsakh residents and giving the impression of Azerbaijanis freely penetrating the territory of the Republic of Artsakh.

After the NSS of the Republic of Artsakh exposed the fabricated and staged nature of these videos, a change and renewal of the method to influence public consciousness occurred.

By various means to urge and persuade for different reasons, social network users from Artsakh were provided with photos of Stepanakert's 'Revival' Square, the 'We are our Mountains' monument, and other places, or results of recordings done in those same locations, which were again published with accompanying Azerbaijani discussions.

After the NSS of the Republic of Artsakh exposed such incidents and uncovered their sources, Azerbaijan's special services once again altered the nature of their actions. This time, not only civilians but also military personnel began to be targeted, with whom fake and enticing pages opened on Facebook, VKontakte, Telegram, and other social networks communicated over a long period, obtaining personal data such as photos of passports, military booklets, intimate and vulgar correspondence, and images of various body parts. Subsequently, the threat of publishing these was used to turn our citizens into instruments for fulfilling their demands.

With the risk of personal data and information that humiliates honor and dignity being made public, attempts were later made to obtain photographs from various places in the Republic of Artsakh, as well as information about the locations of military units, the types and quantities of weapons and ammunition.

Artsakh's National Security Service consistently provides the necessary information to the public each time such incidents are revealed. They also present the Azerbaijani methods and tricks aimed at influencing public consciousness and attitudes, to master them and protect against possible manifestations. Nevertheless, there continue to be individuals who become victims of such actions and simultaneously tools for implementing threats directed at Artsakh's internal security.

To avoid similar incidents, Artsakh's National Security Service again urges individuals to refrain from communicating with suspicious users on social networks, from sharing personal information, photographs, or videos, or information related to the security of the Republic of Artsakh. In situations where individuals find themselves in such circumstances, they should immediately inform us.

By demonstrating high civic awareness and discipline, we not only deprive the adversary of the possibility of launching hostile actions against the Artsakh Armenian population but also ensure a more protected and secure society," the statement concluded.
