Video: 21-Year-Old Youth Brutally Killed His Father's Partner in Artashat

The investigation into the brutal murder of a 52-year-old resident of Artashat has been completed by the Ararat Regional Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia. This was reported by the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

“As a result of urgent, extensive investigative and other procedural actions carried out during the pre-trial proceedings, all circumstances surrounding the murder, including the motive, have been clarified. Specifically, the investigation has established that a 21-year-old resident of Artashat had been in a longstanding hostile and tense relationship with his father, primarily due to the latter's partner, and had frequently argued with him.

On the day of the incident, June 12, 2021, around 1:00 PM, another argument occurred between the father and son over personal and family issues, which escalated into physical confrontations where they hit each other. During the altercation, the father forced his son out of the house. Angered by the incident, the son went to his father's partner's house with the intent to kill her and, disregarding the presence of her daughter-in-law and young child in the house, brutally attacked the woman with two knives he had with him, inflicting multiple wounds to various parts of her body, which caused her to fall to the ground.

During this time, the 52-year-old woman's daughter-in-law attempted to stop the young man by hitting him with a chair but was unsuccessful. The young man continued to stab the woman in various parts of her body and, after confirming that she had died, left the house and fled the scene. Based on the collected evidence, the young man has been charged under Article 104, Part 2, Point 5 of the Criminal Code of Armenia, and he has been taken into custody as a preventive measure. The preliminary investigation has been completed, and the criminal case has been sent to the prosecuting attorney for the approval of the accusatory conclusion and referral to court,” the statement said.
