Unvaccinated Police Officers, Firefighters, and City Employees in New York to Be Terminated

Police officers, firefighters, and other city employees in New York must be vaccinated against COVID-19, or they will be terminated from their positions as of February 11, NBC New York reports.

The city announced that employees at risk of losing their jobs due to not being vaccinated have been notified about this requirement.

“My top priority is keeping this city safe, including getting New Yorkers vaccinated. Over 90 percent of city employees have already received their full vaccination course, and that number is growing day by day,” said Mayor Eric Adams.
