Serious Consequences Await Russia in Case of Ukraine 'Incursion': Johnson and Zelensky
Serious consequences await Russia in case of an 'incursion' into Ukraine, stated UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, according to Kp.ru.
“The leaders warned that any Russian incursion into Ukraine would be a major strategic mistake and would have serious humanitarian repercussions. Ukraine and the United Kingdom have agreed to work together to strengthen Ukraine's security and its ability to defend itself,” reads the joint statement published on the UK Prime Minister's official website.
During Johnson's meeting with Zelensky, the UK leader announced that London would send an additional £88 million to Kyiv to reduce dependency on Russian energy supplies.
Earlier, UK Foreign Secretary Elizabeth Truss had warned Russia of the harshest sanctions if it were to 'invade' Ukraine. They propose, specifically, to freeze the assets of Russian companies in the UK.
