Neither Israel nor the Jewish Diaspora Blame Nzhdeh for Any Actions Against the Jewish People, Lapshin

Blog writer Alexander Lapshin has responded to the bravado of Azerbaijan's dictator regarding the Armenian state and military figure Garegin Nzhdeh.

"Garegin Nzhdeh. I believe it is time to put an end to the lies spread by Azerbaijan about Nzhdeh's participation in the 'mass killings of Jews, Poles, and Gypsies' during World War II. As a citizen of Israel and a Jew who lost numerous relatives in fascist concentration camps, I am disturbed that a self-satisfied dictator who never served in the army spreads lies, while his parents and grandparents avoid defending their homeland.

It is no secret that in 1941, Heydar Aliyev could have voluntarily gone to the front (like my grandfather, the same age as Aliyev, who fought during the defense of Leningrad and was severely wounded), but Heydar wisely preferred a warmer and safer place. In this ruling family of Azerbaijan, love for the homeland is hereditary, which is why Ilham Aliyev, also never having served a day in the army, joyfully roams around Artsakh in a general's uniform, even dressing his wife in general's attire.

But let's return to the topic of the Holocaust and Garegin Nzhdeh. In Israel, in Jerusalem, there is a massive museum called 'Yad Vashem', dedicated to the victims of the Holocaust. It is also an institute for the study of fascist crimes, with a unique card index and archives. There are millions of files categorized by year and month, by name, city, and country. It lists almost all Holocaust victims by name, where and who was killed. Equally important, there is the world's largest archive, which includes not only the names of the victims but also the names of the murderers, from the leaders of the German Reich to ordinary sadistic police officers.

Hundreds and thousands of Nazis were pursued by the Israeli Mossad around the world, many were captured and convicted in Europe and America, while others were simply liquidated, and concentration camp minister Adolf Eichmann was kidnapped from Argentina (where he was hiding) and executed in Israel on June 1, 1962. Garegin Nzhdeh is not in the archives of Yad Vashem. Neither Israel nor the Jewish diaspora considers Garegin Nzhdeh guilty of any actions against the Jewish people.

You can follow the link provided below to the 'Yad Vashem' website (available in English, Russian, Spanish, German) and search for at least one mention of Garegin Nzhdeh. You will not find it. Israel and the Jews do not consider him an enemy of the Jewish people. There is extensive information about tens of thousands of Nazis and Nazi collaborators; you can search for Himmler, Goebbels, or even a minor figure like Heinrich Hoffman, the Nazi photographer, and you will find plenty of information.

Once again, I reiterate—there is nothing about Nzhdeh. And you understand that if Garegin Nzhdeh were in any way linked to the Nazi crimes against the Jewish people, the Jews would certainly not have forgotten it. But no, it turns out that Israel and all the Jews of the world are very naïve, while Azerbaijan, led by Ilham Aliyev, presents the world with the truth about Garegin Nzhdeh’s crimes against the Jewish people. To me, that is very laughable. But at the same time, I find it unpleasant that the Caspian ‘fuhrer’ uses the memory of millions of murdered Jews in his political games and invents something that never happened, seeking to distort not only Armenian history but Jewish history as well.

The link to the Yad Vashem website is provided in the first comment below. Whoever finds at least one mention of Garegin Nzhdeh there will receive an honorable prize from me."
