Accident on Yeghignadzor-Malishka Road: Details
On February 2, at 16:25, the Vayots Dzor regional crisis management center received a report about an accident on the Yeghignadzor-Malishka road; there is one injured individual.
A firefighting and rescue team from the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene.
It was determined that a freight truck loaded with liquefied gas, branded "Scania," driven by A.S.A., born in 1982 from Iran, had veered off the roadway at the 126th kilometer of the Yerevan-Meghri highway, crashed into the roadside barrier, and overturned. There was a fuel leak reported.
The rescuers approached the driver and provided him assistance, and he was subsequently hospitalized at the Yeghignadzor Medical Center, where his condition was assessed as stable.
The rescuers managed to stop the fuel leak, disconnect the vehicle's power, and secure the area. Special equipment is needed to right the trailer and bring the vehicle back onto the roadway.
