There Was Also a Female Candidate for President, But I Won't Say Who - Simonian
The acting President of the Republic, Alen Simonian, stated today during a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly that his candidacy for the presidency was also discussed, but he declined to run.
In response to the question of whether he thought he could handle the competition, Simonian replied, “The issue is not about competition. I believe that I am doing my job quite well here, and I consider it a responsible task. There are many reasons, and perhaps I have not yet traversed the path that Mr. Khachatryan has taken. Ultimately, one must approach the country responsibly, and the sense of that responsibility is very high. That also played a role in my decision,” said Alen Simonian.
He also noted that besides Vahagn Khachatryan, there were other worthy candidates. “There was also a female candidate. As for who it is, I won’t say,” Simonian added.
