Erdogan May Dismiss Cavusoglu and 3 Other Ministers
Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan may dismiss four more ministers, according to Sputnik, referencing Cumhuriyet.
Following the Justice Minister Abdulhamit Gul, Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, Culture Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca, and Agriculture Minister Bekir Pakdemirli are also likely to be relieved of their duties.
However, it is expected that the changes in the ministerial cabinet will not happen all at once.
The most significant change is Cavusoglu's departure, who may be replaced by the president’s spokesman Ibrahim Kalin.
It is noted that Pakdemirli has lost credibility due to incidents related to last year's forest fires and firefighting planes.
According to Cumhuriyet, former minister Gul had issues with Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu and opposed Erdogan’s commands. The president has also expressed dissatisfaction with Gul's actions against judges and prosecutors reportedly linked to the failed coup attempt in 2016.
