The UK Develops Its Harshest Sanctions Regime Against Russia

The United Kingdom has drafted a bill on sanctions against Russia in response to its aggression towards Ukraine. This was reported by RBC, citing the country's Foreign Secretary Liz Truss.

It is noted that the sanctions will affect companies and individuals deemed significant to the Kremlin.

Truss stated, “This will be the harshest sanctions regime we have ever had against Russia and will signify the biggest change in our approach since leaving the European Union.”

According to her, the sanctions package, which the UK is working on, is expected to be approved by February 10. London will have the authority to impose restrictions on those who “share responsibility for the Kremlin's aggressive and destabilizing actions.”
