Parliamentary Opposition Faces Difficult Dilemma: 'Hraparak'
'Hraparak' newspaper reports: 'The parliamentary opposition is facing a difficult dilemma – should they nominate a candidate for the President of Armenia knowing that the parliamentary majority will not elect him, or should they refrain from nominating for the same reason, opening themselves up to criticism that being in parliament becomes pointless under such logic?
It seems that in the 'Honorary' faction, they have decided that regardless of everything, they will not nominate a candidate, but if the 'Armenia' alliance puts forward a candidate, they will support the opposition candidate. Although the Republican Party of Armenia has recently discussed the candidacy of David Harutyunyan, he has declined and advised against entering a field where the outcome of the process is already clear. There is still no final decision within the 'Armenia' alliance.'
