Nuclear Deal Negotiations with Iran are in the 'Final Stage': US State Department
The negotiations with Iran regarding the nuclear deal are in the final phase, with parties having only a few weeks left to reach an agreement on returning to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). This was announced on January 31 by a senior representative of the U.S. State Department.
“We are now at the final stretch of the road. As we have already stated, these negotiations cannot go on indefinitely. This is neither a prediction, nor a threat, nor a self-imposed timeline. It is simply a requirement that we have communicated to Iran and all members of the '5+1' group,” the U.S. diplomatic spokesperson said during a phone briefing.
According to him, there are only a few weeks left for the parties to return to compliance with the Iranian nuclear deal conditions. The State Department representative added that Tehran needs to make a political decision regarding its intention to return to the JCPOA, as reported by RIA Novosti.
