New Sanctions Against Russia: The US Senate to Approve Another Package
The US Senate may approve a new package of sanctions against Russia this week, amid concerns over a possible escalation of the situation surrounding Ukraine. This was reported by Bloomberg, referencing statements from senators.
“We are eagerly awaiting discussions on several final points that we need to reach agreement on before we can move forward,” said Senator Bob Menendez, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Earlier, State Department spokesman Ned Price stated that the US will not disclose the nature of the sanctions being prepared against Russia in advance, to prevent Moscow from preparing and mitigating their impact.
