Closed Roads, Black Ice: Drivers Advised to Use Winter Tires Exclusively

The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that there are closed and difficult-to-pass roads across the territory of Armenia.

In the Aragatsotn region, the roads from the "Amberd" high mountainous meteorological station to the Amberd Fortress and the Kari Lake are closed. The Vardenyats Pass is closed for vehicles with trailers, difficult to pass for trucks, and open for passenger vehicles.

In the Syunik region, there is black ice present on the roads in some places.

According to information received from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Emergency Management Department and the Crisis Management Center of Russia’s Ministry of Emergencies in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles.

Drivers are advised to use winter tires exclusively.
