A Draft Law on Occupied Territories of Artsakh Introduced
The newspaper 'Hraparak' reports that a draft law titled 'On the Occupied Territories of Artsakh' has been introduced with the participation of all 5 factions of the Artsakh National Assembly. The draft law imposes a ban on international organizations that try to implement investment projects in occupied areas without the permission of the Armenian side.
The draft states that such companies will face challenges when demanding compensation in the future. The territories noted as occupied by Azerbaijan include Kashatagh, Shahumyan, Martuni, Martakert, Hadrut, Shushi, Askeran regions, and Getashen.
It remains unclear how this law will be applied in practice, with the parliament planning to adopt it in February. The draft also proposes other regulations, which we will revisit in detail soon.
