Who is the nominee for the presidency from the Civil Contract party and what is his biography?

According to "Haykakan Zhamanak" newspaper, the ruling "Civil Contract" party has selected the candidacy of Vahagn Khachatryan, the Minister of High-Tech Industry and an independent.
We present Khachatryan's professional biography. From 1992 to 1996, Vahagn Khachatryan served as the Mayor of Yerevan, and from 1996 to 1999, he was a member of the National Assembly. From 1996 to 1998, Khachatryan held the position of advisor to the President of Armenia. In 2000, he became a founding member of the "Armat" Center for Democracy and Civil Society Development. Since 2002, he has been the Vice President of the Center for Political, Legal, and Economic Research. In 2006, he was elected as a founding member of the "Alternative" social-political initiative. From 2019 to 2021, he was a member of the Board of "Hayekonom Bank." After the revolution in 2018, he began to closely collaborate with the Civil Contract party. On August 4, 2021, Vahagn Khachatryan was appointed Minister of High-Tech Industry, replacing Hayk Chobanyan.
