SPORT: New Champions of the Armenian Boxing Championship Revealed

After five days of competition at the Dynamo Sports Complex in Yerevan, the winners of the Armenian Boxing Championship have been announced. According to Armenpress, the finals were thrilling and even featured a confrontation.

In their weight categories, the champions of Armenia are Arman Voskanian (48 kg), Artur Hovhannisyan (51 kg), Zanik Sahakyan (54 kg), Artur Bazeyan (57 kg), Artur Sahakyan (60 kg), Narek Zaharyan (71 kg), Vakhtang Harutyunyan (75 kg), Hambardzum Hakobyan (80 kg), Henrik Jghrikyan (86 kg), Narek Manasyan (92 kg), and Davit Chaloyan (heavyweight).

In the 67 kg weight category, the winner remains unclear as following the match between Harutyun Hakobkhohyan and Gughen Madoyan, Israel Hakobkhohyan (father of Harutyun Hakobkhohyan) confronted the competition headquarters, and Harutyun Hakobkhohyan refused to leave the ring as a sign of disagreement with the referees' decision. The referees awarded the victory to Gughen Madoyan. Ultimately, Hakobkhohyan contested the referees' decision, and the Armenian champion in this category has yet to be determined.
