Armenian Sambo Athletes Win Medals

Armenian athletes have won gold, silver, and bronze medals in the men's under 58 kg category at the ongoing European Sambo Cup in Minsk. Tigran Kirakosyan secured the gold, Davit Hovsepyan took silver, and Karen Sargsyan claimed bronze.

AHA CoM Ghagham Stepanyan reported that Davit and Karen hail from Shushi and both come from displaced families. “Years ago, I had the opportunity to attend one of their training sessions in Shushi, and I witnessed the spirit and enthusiasm within them, as well as their great love for their chosen sport. Today, we are also witnessing the fruits of that spirit and dedication, which we will surely enjoy for a long time to come. Despite facing the challenges and difficulties of displacement, our athletes are fighting with high spirits and determination in this field, raising awareness about Artsakh in foreign countries. Their victories need to be complemented by successes in other areas, and we must work as hard as they do and dedicate ourselves wholeheartedly,” wrote Stepanyan.
