The Once Guarantor of Peace in the Region Now Requires Defense Itself, Says Robert Kocharyan

Armenia's second President Robert Kocharyan has sent a message on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Armenian Armed Forces.

“Dear compatriots,

I congratulate you on the occasion of the Armed Forces Day. We celebrate this day under the most challenging conditions for the army. It is not difficult to understand the feelings of those who contributed to the fate of our army, which was established during the First Artsakh War and has gradually strengthened over time.

The army, once a guarantor of peace in the region and security in Artsakh, now finds itself in need of defense. I am hopeful that the army will eventually regain its strength and become a full guarantor of our people’s security,” Kocharyan's message states.
