Armen Sarkissian's Message

Armen Sarkissian's message on the occasion of Army Day:

“Dear compatriots,

Today is Army Day. The Armenian Armed Forces turn 30 years old. Regardless of the circumstances, our army has been and remains the guarantor and protector of our security and identity.

With gratitude and humility, let us remember and honor all those who have fought and struggled for our Homeland, for Armenia and Artsakh, those who sacrificed their lives for our independence and freedom.

I wish health to all the wounded... Together with all of you, I eagerly await the return of our compatriots who are still in captivity. We must continue our efforts to bring them back home and to quickly locate the missing.

We all must be united with the army, firmly support its back, and strengthen it, rallying around our military.

The army and education are the cornerstones of our statehood. The world is changing rapidly, and it depends on us how we utilize these changes to the benefit of our statehood and people.

For this, we need educated citizens fully prepared to defend the motherland, organized, disciplined, technologically equipped and advanced armed forces, a competitive and developing economy, and of course, a society ready to support the army in every way and at every moment.

Dear servicemen,

Each of you is a unique backbone of the army. Together with you, with hope and faith, respect, pride, and confidence, we will create new victories for our Homeland.
