Karen Andreasyan on the Appointment of Grigor Minasian, Brother of Mikayel Minasian
Grigor Minasian is my friend, and we have been partners; since the political appointment of the Deputy Minister of Justice is based on that, you choose not only a good specialist but a trusted specialist who shares your ideas. In this sense, Mr. Minasian meets all the criteria.
This was stated by the Minister of Justice Karen Andreasyan during a conversation with journalists, referring to the appointment of Grigor Minasian, brother of Mikayel Minasian, as Deputy Minister of Justice.
Regarding Grigor Minasian's political views, Karen Andreasyan stated that his and Grigor Minasian's political views and ideas coincide.
In response to a remark that appointing his friend as Deputy Minister could fit into the principle of 'nepotism,' where acquaintances and relatives are appointed to positions, Andreasyan remarked, “Nepotism” and all other negative phenomena regarding appointments are dangerous when, for example, it’s a civil position that is competitive, and you are pushing your acquaintance or relative through that competition. I am confident that in all cases where political, partnership, and friendly relationships exist, and professional advantage and quality are also preserved, it is normal for appointments,” said Karen Andreasyan and assured that appointing his friend to the deputy position does not entail risks.
