Has Onik Gasparyan Been Questioned? - Factinfo
Former Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces Onik Gasparyan has been questioned within the framework of a criminal case initiated based on the statements made by Movses Hakobyan that are being investigated by the Anti-Corruption Committee. In response to a question from "Factinfo", Onik Gasparyan's lawyer Martik Martirosyan did not deny the information but refrained from officially confirming it.
The Anti-Corruption Committee also did not deny the information, choosing not to comment further, the news agency reports.
It is noteworthy that during a press conference held on November 19, following the end of the Third Artsakh War, Movses Hakobyan made controversial statements, claiming that on the third day of the war, the Prime Minister halted the replenishment of the army and ordered that volunteers be sent to the front lines. He emphasized that no one could refute his words, as there are recordings to back them up.
In connection with the statements made at the conference, a criminal case has been initiated at the SIS under Article 308, Part 2 of the RA Criminal Code, that is, abuse of official powers. Within the same criminal case, allegations related to apparent state treason by the authorities and violations of the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia are also being investigated, with the current Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces Artak Davtyan, former Minister Davit Tonoyan, and other military personnel being questioned.
