Video: Scandal at Istanbul Airport as Hundreds of Tourists Protest
Operations at Istanbul Airport have come to a standstill due to heavy snowfall. According to Mynet, approximately 50 cm of snow has accumulated. The latest weather forecasts indicate that the snowfall is expected to continue for several more days.
As a result of the adverse weather conditions, 729 flights have been canceled, with 341 incoming and 388 outgoing flights affected.
Tourists have found themselves trapped at the airport and organized a protest on-site, voicing their grievances over the dire conditions. International media reports suggest that basic necessities have not been provided for the stranded passengers, who have been forced to sleep on the cold ground without food or water.
The protesters are demanding that accommodations in hotels be arranged for them.
