COVID Passports Selling Group Neutralized in Spain

A group involved in the forgery of documents regarding COVID-19 vaccinations has been neutralized in Spain, according to the National Police.

The group's leaders were established in France, while the buyers were citizens from various EU countries. A total of 7 individuals have been arrested, six in Madrid and one in Barcelona. In total, the participants of the group had entered the data of 1,600 people into the national vaccination registry, and an investigation has been launched against them.

Authorities discovered that the suspects had bribed healthcare personnel. Additionally, the option of stealing access keys to the database is also under investigation.

The group found customers through messengers via a group of vaccination opponents, offering them both fake PCR tests and counterfeit COVID passports. The fake test was sold for 50 euros, while the passport was issued with notes for 2 or 3 vaccine doses, ranging from 200 euros (for receiving a fake document) to 1,000 euros (for actual registration).
