VIDEO: Armenia has never pursued a political agenda for the Armenian Cause, says Prime Minister

The Republic of Armenia has never pursued a political agenda regarding the Armenian Cause. Furthermore, for example, in 2005, Robert Kocharyan publicly stated that Armenia has no territorial claims or ambitions against Turkey.

This statement was made by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a press conference where he responded to questions about the possibility of Armenia renouncing the "Armenian Cause" and recognizing Turkey's territorial integrity within the context of normalizing relations with Turkey.

“Serzh Sargsyan has also referenced this statement. The Armenian Cause has never been the policy of Armenia, and Armenia has never called into question the Armenia-Turkey border; you will not find a single leader or government of the Republic of Armenia that has questioned the Armenia-Turkey border. We have not abandoned this policy,” he said.

Addressing the issue of recognizing the Armenian Genocide, Pashinyan noted that their stance on the matter is reflected in the Government's program. “Nevertheless, it should be noted that the driving force behind the recognition process of the Genocide has always been the Diaspora and Diaspora organizations,” Pashinyan added.
