The Parliament Has Received President Armen Sarkissian's Resignation Request
The National Assembly of Armenia has received the resignation request of President Armen Sarkissian. This was stated to the media by the spokesperson’s press secretary, Tzovinar Khachatryan.
Earlier, we reported that the President of Armenia had made a statement regarding his resignation. In the president's statement, it is specifically mentioned: 'I have thought long and hard and decided to resign from the position of President of the Republic after nearly four years of active service. This decision is not emotional at all and stems from certain logic. The president lacks the necessary tools to influence the radical processes of internal and external politics during these complicated times for the country and the nation. In this difficult phase for our state, when national unity is needed, the presidential institution should not become a target for gossip and conspiracy theories, thus diverting society's attention from the most pressing issues. Today, more than ever, meaningful, deeply thought-out, measured, and substantive actions are necessary.
