Smoking Prohibition in Public Eating Places in Armenia from March

Starting from March 15, a ban on smoking in public eating places will come into effect in Armenia. Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan stated this during a press conference with journalists.

According to her, several provisions of the anti-smoking law came into force on January 1, specifically banning the advertising and display of tobacco products. The smoking prohibition in public eating places will take effect on March 15.

“Unfortunately, we still have very high numbers of tobacco product use in Armenia, and we must do everything possible to protect our citizens from such harmful habits. Most importantly, we must promote a healthy lifestyle among our next generation, our children, and teenagers. If we only focus on treating illnesses or caring for the sick, unfortunately, we cannot achieve public health outcomes,” she said.
