No Roads Were Blocked, Gathering Held: Acting Head of Tsovagyugh Discusses Community Residents Blocking Road

Residents of the Tsovagyugh administrative district in Gegharkunik Province did not block any roads. The acting head of Tsovagyugh, Vahram Gevorgyan, stated this in an interview with NEWS.am on January 24.

“They gathered to discuss issues related to the village, specifically regarding the consolidation of communities. No roads were blocked; they simply held a meeting. They met in an area of the administrative territory where there is also a road, and that section is wide, which is why they held the discussion there,” Gevorgyan said.

He indicated that the government has informed them that a solution will be provided within the legal framework. Gevorgyan added that the discussion has now concluded: “We hope that the government will take into account the people's choice and provide a good solution.”

It should be noted that residents of Tsovagyugh and Semenovka, opposing consolidation, did not participate in the local self-government elections of the enlarged Sevan community that took place on December 5.
