Gor Abrahamyan Addresses Rumors on Attorney General's Russian Citizenship
The advisor to the Attorney General, Gor Abrahamyan, has issued a clarification on Facebook regarding the topic of Arthur Davtyan’s alleged acquisition of Russian citizenship.
“Back in November 2021, the website ‘armlur.am’ published a misleading piece that presented a wishful scenario as fact, claiming that the Attorney General of Armenia, Arthur Davtyan, had applied to Russia for citizenship. Given the rapid spread of this misinformation, we were compelled to publicly deny it at that time. However, it seems that ‘armlur.am’ either has memory issues, vision problems, or is attempting to fish in troubled waters for some individuals. This is evident as the site has once again disseminated false information—not only repeating what has already been officially denied but also amplifying their skewed imagination.
Specifically, as is customary for this ‘media outlet’, they are now circulating another absurdity without citing any sources, in line with the genre of gossip. This new fabrication claims that the Attorney General allegedly had a conversation with the Prime Minister and suggested he be appointed as the dean of the Faculty of Law at Yerevan State University.
Hoping that the public will no longer be fed such gossip, I would like to make a few clear statements:
1. Attorney General Arthur Davtyan continues his work normally, and there is no circumstance that would render that impossible.
2. The Attorney General has not had any discussions regarding a dean position with anyone; attempts to give credibility to such gossip are primitive.
3. As for the issue of applying for Russian citizenship, there is, perhaps, no need to deny what has already been denied.
We should simply not take the publications of that site seriously, and that’s it,” he wrote.
