Explosion and Collapse in a House on Tichina Street in Yerevan: Doctors Fight for Injured Man's Life

On January 23, an emergency incident occurred in Yerevan. At approximately 09:55, the 911 Crisis Management Center of the Emergency Situations Rescue Service received a call about an explosion on Tichina Street. According to reports from the scene, firefighters from the Yerevan Fire and Rescue Service's Unit No. 7 were promptly dispatched.

Also arriving quickly were the duty medical team of the 1-03 emergency service in Yerevan, who transported 79-year-old Vrej T. from house number 134 on Tichina Street to the National Burn Center. Doctors assessed his health condition as moderate.

Service personnel from Gazprom Armenia’s Yerevan Gas Distribution Network also quickly arrived at the scene, led by General Director Garnik Movsisyan. It was determined that an explosion occurred due to damage to the gas pipeline, resulting in shattered windows, damaged property, and the collapse of several interior walls, along with various cracks appearing in the walls and ceiling.
