US Plans Evacuation of Non-Essential Personnel from Embassy in Ukraine Next Week: CNN
The US embassy in Kyiv has requested the State Department to allow non-essential personnel and their families to return to Washington. The US has notified Ukraine that the evacuation is expected to begin next week, according to CNN, citing its sources.
A source close to the Ukrainian government, referenced by CNN, revealed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the issue with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and informed him that the evacuation would be a “severe overreaction.”
Russia has repeatedly denied Western and Ukrainian accusations of planning aggressive actions, stating that it does not threaten anyone and has no intentions of attacking anyone.
