Arrests in Turkey Since Last Night, Expert Karen Hovhannisyan

"There have been arrests in Turkey since last night. Arrests are being made of those who have made various so-called offensive posts on social media regarding Erdogan and his wife being infected with the Omicron variant of the coronavirus.

This was reported by military expert Karen Hovhannisyan on his Facebook page. Those who have posted offensive comments about Erdogan and his wife are being taken in for questioning, and the prosecutor’s office is seeking detention orders from the court.

To find posts that insult Erdogan and his wife, the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office has opened a department dedicated to identifying such posts. Currently, the number of those detained due to offensive comments related to Erdogan’s illness has exceeded one hundred."
