Turkish Journalist Arrested for Insulting Erdogan Live on Air
Turkish journalist Sedef Kabaş has been arrested for using insulting language directed at President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during a live broadcast. Her remarks have garnered significant attention on social media, according to "RIA Novosti," citing CNN Turk.
During the live broadcast, the journalist quoted a vulgar saying related to animals in the context of Erdoğan's political actions. Her words have sparked widespread reactions online. Various officials and representatives from the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) have publicly condemned her statements. In particular, the party's press secretary, Ömer Çelik, stated that the journalist's comments do not reflect an opposition stance but rather represent “immorality and foolishness.” The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) has also launched an investigation into the television channel that aired Kabaş's segment.
