Blizzard on Goris-Sisian Road Segment in Syunik Province: Ministry of Emergency Situations
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed and difficult roads across the territory of Armenia.
The road from Amberd Fortress to Kari Lake is closed in Aragatsotn Province. The Vardenyats Pass is difficult to traverse for truckers without snow chains.
Roads that are difficult to access include those in Syunik Province, the Kuchak-Zaghkashen road in Aragatsotn Province, the Yeghnajur-Zarishat road in Shirak Province, and the Jraberd-Fantan road in Kotayk Province. Additionally, the Spitak bends in Lori Province are impassable for trucks.
In Gegharkunik Province and in the regions of Aparan and Aragats in Aragatsotn Province, as well as in the Tigranashen bends of Ararat Province, there are patches of black ice.
Currently, a blizzard is taking place on the Goris-Sisian road segment in Syunik Province.
As for the Lars area, according to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
