Number of Crimes Unleashed by Azerbaijan After the War: Details

From November 9, 2020, following the trilateral statement until January 1, 2022, Azerbaijani armed forces located in areas adjacent to communities under the control of the Republic of Artsakh have committed 69 crimes against the Artsakh Armenians, resulting in a total of 54 criminal cases being initiated. This was reported to NEWS.am by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Artsakh.

“In total, 5 homicide crimes have been recorded (3 cases involving civilian deaths), 28 attempted murders (19 of which were directed against military personnel), 1 act of terrorism, 16 with the use of firearms resulting in property destruction (10 of which concern the destruction or damage of military property), 5 attempts at property destruction and damage, 3 thefts, 2 robberies, 3 cases of graves desecration, 4 instances of torture, 1 case of making death threats, and 1 case of abduction,” the report states.

Three civilians and 10 military personnel were killed, while 77 individuals (50 military) were subjected to attempted murder. A total of 37 individuals (28 military) sustained varying degrees of gunshot wounds, 8 underwent physical violence, and 2 were threatened with murder.

As a result of criminal infringements against the property rights of Artsakh residents, an estimated property damage of 17,710,000 drams was inflicted due to theft (both clandestine and overt), including the theft of livestock and one vehicle.

As a result of the deliberate destruction or damage of property, 9 residential houses, 3 agricultural machinery, and 9 vehicles (7 of which were military), along with 2 construction machinery, were targeted. Three orchards and a farmland were set on fire, and one group of livestock was targeted with gunfire, resulting in significant property damage.

Apart from the mentioned cases, since November 2020, Azerbaijani positions located near the city of Stepanakert and the villages of Askeran, Martuni, and Shushi have periodically fired shots of varying calibers toward nearby Armenian settlements or into the air. As a result, bullets frequently land on the roofs of houses or in courtyards, striking the walls of residential buildings and other structures.

The presented data clearly indicates that since the trilateral statement, Azerbaijan has regularly violated the condition mentioned in Clause 1 of the “Declaration” regarding the “complete cessation of fire and military operations,” resulting in loss of lives and violating the most basic human rights necessary for existence and living. The deterrent factors against Azerbaijan's terrorist and genocidal actions continue to be the Armenian soldier and the Russian peacekeeping forces,” the statement concludes.
