VIDEO: Anna Mkrtchyan Called Ararat Mirzoyan 'Omega'

The genocide of the Armenian people was planned and implemented by the Ottoman Empire and various regimes of Turkey. Armenia and the Armenian people will continue to fight against the consequences of genocide. This was stated today, on January 19, in the National Assembly during a Q&A session with the government by Anna Mkrtchyan, a member of the 'I Have Honor' faction.

'Armenia condemns Turkey's denial of the Armenian Genocide, and historical reconciliation between the Armenian and Turkish peoples can only begin after recognition, condemnation, and historical compensation for the genocide. I believe that it should never be a problem for anyone to voice these truths. I want to be assured that for the person sitting in the prime minister's chair, voicing these truths is also not a problem. Can these sentences, which express our collective will, be voiced by the person occupying the prime minister's chair, or will his avoidance of approaching the podium be seen as an attempt to avoid repeating these sentences?' she said.

In response to her question, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan noted, 'I would like to advise our opposition colleagues to re-read the government program of the Republic of Armenia, approved by parliament. The government's position on the Armenian Genocide is written in black and white there. No authority in Armenia will make even an attempt to cast doubt on the historical fact of the Armenian Genocide,' said Mirzoyan.

Responding to this, Anna Mkrtchyan said, 'The prime minister's avoidance of approaching the podium will be interpreted as not repeating the sentences I quoted, let us note this. The worst choice that could have been made was sending 'Omega' to the podium instead of repeating my assertions regarding the Armenian Genocide. It was obvious and understandable why your deputies periodically say in interviews that we are not claimants and do not have problems with Turkey. The criminal oligarchs in your circle are also excited that the border will open and they will provide medical services to the Turks,' said Mkrtchyan.

The deputy speaker of the National Assembly, Hakob Arshakyan, interrupted the opposition member's microphone, saying, 'Your time is up. Ms. Mkrtchyan, please express yourself a bit more correctly.'

In response to Mkrtchyan’s speech, Ararat Mirzoyan said, 'It is difficult to address this verbal heap without crossing the boundaries of politeness. As in many cases, this time it is also evident that what you have thought does not correspond to reality, sadly I cannot open many borders, I can simply ask you to greet Narimanov, Ms. Mkrtchyan.'
