Turkey and Azerbaijan will start implementing the natural gas supply memorandum for Nakhchivan, which was signed in 2020 by the energy ministers of both countries, this year. This was reported by the Turkish outlet Sabah.
Within the framework of this project, carried out by BOTAŞ and SOCAR companies, natural gas will be supplied to Nakhchivan from Turkey's Igdir province. The total investment from the Turkish side will amount to 185 million lira, with Turkey planning to invest 100 million lira in the project this year.
The agreement states that Nakhchivan will be provided with 500 million cubic meters of natural gas annually, which will be supplied at a rate of 1.5 million cubic meters per day from Igdir to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
